Diet change

If your Food Detective™ test shows any positive reactions it means that you have an elevated antibody reaction to that particular food.

Once you are aware that you have reacted to a particular food, it is advisable to eliminate any ‘reactive’ foods for at least 3 months.

If you have a lot of positive results, then you might find it too challenging to eliminate all of the foods at once, and therefore you may find it easier to:

a) avoid the foods with a moderate and strong reaction.
b) to rotate the foods showing a mild reaction.

The thought of cutting out certain kinds of food from your diet (possibly some of your favourite food) can be daunting at first. Some people can often feel worse for a few days when they eliminate a food and although certain foods can be difficult to give up, you need to persevere.

When removing foods from your diet you must try and replace those foods with substitutes. There are often more alternatives than you think. Our section on maintaining a balanced diet will provide you with information relating to the most common reactive foods.

Finding out that you have reacted to certain foods is not the end of your world it is just the beginning of eating differently. You should find that removing the offending foods will allow you to lead a much more fulfilling life, free from the symptoms that you have endured for many years.
