Lesley, mother of 5 children, had already been avoiding dairy products when she decided to take a food intolerance test. "The doctors had tested me for food allergies but they all came back clear, but I know that if I drink milk my nose runs, I have a sore throat and my lips as well as my eyes are very itchy" Lesley says that she would definitely recommend Cambridge Nutritional Sciences' Food Intolerance test to others ....... "in fact I think this test should be available on the NHS!"

Foodprint® Indicator

What is Food Intolerance?
Some food intolerances are caused by an enzyme deficiency or chemical sensitivity, while others are associated with an immune response related to food-specific antibodies called IgG antibodies.

These IgG antibodies recognise and bind to specific food proteins to form immune complexes in the body, which can accumulate in joints and other organs where they cause inflammation and many of the symptoms associated with food intolerance.

Symptoms
Often patients report multiple symptoms such as gut pain with headaches and skin rash. Common symptoms include:

  • Anxiety (acute or chronic)
  • Attention Deficit Disorder
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhoea
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia
  • Migraine
  • Water retention
  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Asthma
  • Bloating
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Depression
  • Gastritis
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease
  • Itchy skin
  • Weight control problems
  • Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Symptoms of this type of food intolerance are often delayed for many hours or even days and for this reason it is often hard to identify the problem foods. The detection of food-specific IgG antibodies through the use of immunoassays can be helpful in the management of these patients through the design of elimination diets based on food IgG antibody results.

Indicator Test

How does the test work?
The CNS Foodprint® Indicator test utilises a new, state of the art immunoassay based on microarray technology to detect food-specific IgG antibodies.

As developers of the first IgG food intolerance test in the UK, CNS is the acknowledged experts in all aspects of food specific IgG detection.

Benefits
The Foodprint® Indicator test is carried out on a blood sample collected from a finger-prick into a CNS heparinised blood collection tube. The test is designed to tell if you if you have a food intolerance or not. If the Indicator test is negative it is unlikely that you have a food intolerance. However, if the result is positive it is necessary to have a more detailed Foodprint® test to determine which foods you are most reactive to.

Choose from a comprehensive range of Foodprint® food lists:

Upgrading from the Indicator test to another Foodprint® test is easy, for example from an Indicator test  to Foodprint® 120, is straightforward and cost-effective. When you upgrade the cost of the Indicator test will be deducted from your upgrade.

Sample requirements and test turnaround
A simple pin-prick blood sample is all that's required.
Results are available within 10 working days of sample receipt.
